Dear friends of Nying Thob Ling,

Following are the gist of progress report and vote of thanks to you.

Gist of progress report:

(a) Construction:

The construction (structure) of dormitory), kitchen and dining hall (23 rooms), toilets/bathrooms (21) along with the railings are completed. The floors of the dormitory and kitchen are ordinary and toilets/bath rooms are chips. The floors of the dinning hall and the dormitory corridors are Kota stones. The entire work of the above mentioned will be completed with the completion of Kota Stones which may take 15 days.

Most of the doors and window pans are fixed. Two coats of paining for the railing and entire house was done and the final coat is left for October to avoid unwanted monsoon’s impressions.

The gas connection and the safety measures are already discussed with the experts from gas agents. We will buy the Kitchen furniture and get water/gas connections as they proposed.

  • The main walls of the infirmary except the isolation room are complete. Its furniture and medical equipment too will be bought after discussing with medical persons.
  • The classroom foundation along with a small underground room too is completed.
  • Solar panel and water supply to dormitory/Kitchen too is estimated and planned to install according to solar installer’s proposed.
  • The stone wall of the prayer hall is about 75% complete. The main time taker is the religious symbols on the pillar before the slab casting and then the interior and external symbols. Hope to finish the entire work by the third week of November.

(b) Overall:

  • Number of Children increased from 7 (1999) to 37.
  • This year we took a batch of children to Chandigarh for general check up and local check ups. Happy to inform that some of them has shown progress. This gives special encouragement as everyone thinks that there is no hope for improvement.
  • Better food, surrounding cleanliness along with both modern and traditional medicines added with our staffs love and care for each child enabled us to have a healthy and happy life. The greatness owes to you, the supporters of Nyingtob Ling.
  • We have no sick children even at this peak hour of monsoon.
  • Children’s skills, social behavior and cleanliness are improving. Their arts are liked by all specially the cards.
It is to inform you that with the completion of the first phase and second phase on its 68% completion, we are now on the third and most probably the last Phase of construction project. They are as:
  1. The staff quarters, 7200 sqft., Rs 4,272,000 (1 sqare feet = 0,091 m², 50 Rs = 1 Euro)
  2. Children’s play field and tot lots, 8263 sqft.,1,600,000. (Park facilities/play equipment)
  3. Library and crafts show room, 950 sqft., 1,000,000.
  4. Guest, coffee counter, tug shop, 3880 sqft., 2,520,000.
  • The staff quarters will be only 100 Mt. away from Nyingtob Ling’s border.
  • The children’s play field and tot lots will be just outside of the border opposite the present class and dinning room. (The Children of Nyingtob Ling loves the place).
The children/ their parents/ supporters and the staff of Nyingtob Ling lack words to express our gratitude to the Embassy of Finland for sponsoring the First and second phase of construction. Your support enabled the disabled children of destitute families to have a bright, healthy and meaningful life. I on behalf of the above and on behalf of the Tibetan people, I sincerely thank you for supporting the Tibetan People in the darkest hour of exiled life.

With our warmest Greetings,
Thanking you,
Yours truly
